As  previously mentioned there are a couple of plastic tubes that the squirrels can play in. There are branches leading to the other levels. We place different foods on different levels so that the squirrels need to find there food.
We have placed a couple of toys in the cage as well as a couple of flavoured chew sticks. These are used to keep the teeth in check. In the wild the teeth would be naturally worn down. In the captive enviroment we need to either provide materials to do this or manually cut the teeth. If the teeth overgrow they can grow into mouth. The animal will not be able to eat.
We prefer to try to keep the teeth in check by the wooden chews and not to revert to cutting the teeth and stressing the animals.
